How It All Started
Hi, I’m Carlee — the heart behind CS Boarding.
My story with dogs began later than most. I grew up in a cat household, and it wasn’t until 2015 that I brought home my first dog — a spirited husky named Sampson who was completely more than I was ready for. He was wild, clever, and had a mind of his own. Thinking a second husky might help to match his energy (spoiler: it didn't), I brought home a second husky, Kodi, and they clashed!
That’s when I turned to a trainer, and everything changed. I discovered a deep love for canine behavior — understanding what dogs are trying to say through movement, expression, and energy. Over time, a third husky, Luna, joined our family and balanced the whole pack. Watching the three of them learn, adapt, and bond sparked something in me.
I tried my hand at teaching training courses and grooming, but what I loved most was simply being with dogs — creating an environment where they could relax, play, and be understood. I started by offering care through Rover, where I quickly earned Star Sitter status and built a wonderful base of loyal families. Over time, those relationships inspired me to create something more personal — and that’s how CS Boarding began.

Life with the Pack
Life at CS Boarding is lively — a full house of happy dogs and even louder boys, the kind of everyday hustle that somehow finds its own rhythm. Our huskies, Sampson, Kodi, and Luna, each bring their own personality: Sampson keeps things playful, Luna reads the room and keeps the peace, and Kodi is the old soul who prefers cuddles and quiet company. We recently added Aida, a Bernedoodle puppy, in training to be my husband's shed hunting sidekick. She joins him at work each day and comes home eager to play with our guests.
We keep our numbers comfortable so every dog gets personal attention and space to relax. Some love to romp outdoors; others prefer naps in sunny spots or quiet time inside with the family — and that’s exactly what this home is made for. Our five cats stick to their own corner, so even guests who prefer a cat-free visit can settle in easily.
Behind it all is our family — my husband, our four energetic boys, and a shared love for animals that keeps this place warm, busy, and full of joy. Our downtime usually means lake days, outdoor adventures with the pack, playing in the yard, discovering new favorite places to eat, or winding down with a good movie.
What Makes Us Different
CS Boarding isn’t a kennel — it’s a home. Every guest becomes part of our family, sharing the spaces, routines, and warmth that make dogs feel at ease. From the start, the goal has been simple: to create a place where pets can relax, play, and be understood.
With a background in dog behavior and years of hands-on experience, I focus on reading each dog’s needs — whether that’s quiet comfort or playful interaction. That understanding shapes every stay, helping guests settle quickly and thrive in a calm, balanced environment.
Safety and communication are always at the heart of what I do. From photo updates to first aid knowledge and carefully supervised play, I'm committed to offering peace of mind for both pets and their people. It’s not just care — it’s trust, built through consistency, understanding, and genuine connection.
